Treeline vs Trifecta

Travel and adventure are at the top of everyone’s To Do lists in 2021.  We are reemerging and descending upon tourist destinations in hordes not unlike the similarly timed cicada’s cycle.  Welcome summer and all that it stands for: sunshine, warmth, longer days, and freedom to roam!  It is time to free our toes, get our feet in the sand, and hike up to the top of our favorite mountains for another glorious look around!

First on our packing list is the most versatile sandals for wherever the day may take you.  In the realm of outdoor adventures, our top hitters are the Treeline, Treeline Sport, and Trifecta sandals.  These three styles are packing the most bang for the adventure buffs out there. 

Inspiration behind the design

The Treeline and Treeline Sport sandals were born from our collaboration with Cascade Designs, the manufacturer of the well-known Therm-A-Rest camping pads and the inventor of the self-inflating camping mattress.  Cascade’s camping pads revolutionized the outdoor industry with their lightweight design, making a great night’s sleep under the stars a possibility.  Martin Kim, our Head of Design, saw pure possibility in Therm-A-Rest and an opportunity to make a revolutionary sandal footbed modeled after those iconic ridges.

The Trifecta sandal was born of a different muse, a never-ending quest to improve the fit and function of classic footwear designs.  This sport sandal packs a remarkable punch with its 1-2-3 design combination that truly makes it feel like winning the Trifecta.  

Features and Benefits

While all three styles are perfectly suited for the outdoor lifestyle, it is worth diving into the unique attributes of each style.

The Treeline and Treeline Sport both feature the Therm-A-Rest footbed with its soft structured ridges which allow for optimal airflow around the foot and have the added benefit of channeling water out from underneath the sole.  Partnered with quick-dry webbing straps that refrain from fraying or breaking, these designs are made for adventure.

The original Treeline features a classic 3-point sandal upper with the Therm-A-Rest footbed and is well-suited for a traditional sandal enthusiast.  It includes a fine-tooth rubber outsole for excellent stability outdoors.

The Treeline Sport takes all of the above technology and cranks it up to an 11 with sport straps and Velcro strap-in closure for a custom fit and maximum support.  The style also features a Vibram Ecostep rubber outsole with larger tread for added durability and improved grip on wet and dry surfaces.

The Trifecta is in a class of its own with a special hybrid design.  The 3-part contoured footbed has a medium grade arch support (not too little/not too much) and heel cup formed from our best-in-class Supreem Foam.  Our unique Supreem Foam formulation offers superb rebound and shock absorption with low pack out for a sandal that fits perfectly on day one as well on day 365 and beyond.

The Trifecta features the ease of a slip-on, like a classic 3-point sandal, with an added Velcro top strap to give you extra support when you need it.  Along with a deep groove rubber outsole for maximum versatility and grip.  This sport sandal functions like a traditional slip-on and is great for hiking, camping, boating, or wherever your adventure takes you because it stays put in extreme situations.

I fit into one of the above categories, but I typically buy women’s sizing.  The conversion to women’s sizing is easy!  Just add 1!  (i.e. a men’s size 7 is equal to a women’s size 8.)  Therefore, these sandals are available in women’s sizes 8-14.
