A new approach to footwear
At Freewaters, we create footwear with comfort that is travel tested, with versatility for adventures both near and far, and modern designs for everyday. Each pair provides clean drinking water through our grassroots projects, transforming lives and connecting us as global citizens.
Founded on design
Our approach begins with a passion for design. Co-founders Martin and Eli are both industrial designers with a combined forty years of product design experience in the action sports and outdoor segments. Our footwear developer TH Park, brings another thirty years of footwear expertise and is considered a 'master developer' by his peers.
Responsible sourcing
Next, we carefully select manufacturing parters who meet the highest standards of quality and labor practices. They are fully audited according to our Code of Conduct.
Responsible materials
Like you, we believe every detail matters. We use PVC-free materials and water based glues for assembly. Responsibly Sourced Leather by working with this award winning Gold Certified supplier that uses 100% of the water used in the tanning process is naturally purified in on-site wetlands. Instead of using plastic polybags, our bags are made from a Cradle To Cradle® certified eco stone powder.
Travel tested
As our designs progress into the prototyping phase, we partner with our team of master travelers for field testing around the globe. Traveling demands footwear with exceptional comfort, versatility and packability. Once it passes these tests, we know we have developed footwear that can be used for adventures near or far and will excel in everyday use.
Connecting lives
Finally, once the designs are tested and finalized, there is one more crucial step to our approach. We believe for our footwear to be truly great, it must do more than feel good or look good.
